Pre and Post Bronchodilator Spirometry

What is it?

This test helps to assess lung function and diagnose obstructive or restrictive lung issues. It measures the ability to move air in and out of the lungs.

How is it done?

This procedure is split into two halves. The first measures your inhalation and exhalation efforts and lung capacity. We will then administer a bronchodilator (asthma reliever inhaler), wait 15 minutes and repeat the process.

Preparation

We will let you know if there are specific requirements. If you are already using inhalers, we may ask you to withhold them on the day of testing.
