Carotid Ultrasound

What is it?

This is an ultrasound recording of your neck and the arteries within it to detect any blockages.

How is it done?

In a similar way to the cardiac ultrasound, the sonographer will apply gel to your neck and record images and video of the blood flow through your arteries.

Preparation

You will need to wear clothes that allow easy access to your neck. If we need you to eat or drink anything or in a special way, we will let you know before the test.
