ECG

What Is It?

An ECG is a test used to check your heart rhythm and the electrical activity of your heart.

How Is It Done?

You will be asked to lay down on the bed and remove your shirt, so we can access your chest. We then connect you to a number of electrodes across the chest, arms and legs. We attach the ECG leads and will generate an ECG. This is a non-invasive painless procedure and takes around 10minutes. Once this is interpreted by a Cardiologist a copy of the results will be sent to the requesting Health Professional. ECG’s are performed by our practice nurse/or the cardiologist

What to wear?

Please wear loose clothing with a separate top.

Is there any preparation required?

There is no preparation or aftercare required, so you can leave immediately after the procedure.
